The Crewroom event calendar is filling up nicely as we move into the spring sunshine and the start of our main event season.
From April to October, our event team doubles in size and hits the road both at home and abroad, bringing Crewroom products to the masses.
Earlier this month we hosted guests at Crewroom HQ to witness Cambridge University storm to victory in both the Men’s and Women’s Boat Races. The Boat Race course, known as the Championship Course, is 4 miles, 374 yards or 6.8 km long. It stretches between Putney and Mortlake on the River Thames so we’re always lucky enough to enjoy a prime viewing position with Crewroom HQ and retail store situated near the start line.
Winning the 165th Men’s Boat Race, Cambridge fought off a valiant effort from Oxford to take the lead with a crew which included veteran rower and two-times Olympic gold medallist, James Cracknell, who takes his place in the record books as the event’s oldest competitor.
Meanwhile, Cambridge Women held on to the title in the 74th year of this prestigious event, crossing the line with a convincing five-length margin of triumph.
Last weekend we relocated from riverside to seaside when we pitched up at the Brighton Marathon Event Village along with Alton Sports.
This exciting event sees over 12,000 runners taking to the streets of Brighton and boasts course bests for the men and women well under 2:10 and 2:29, making it the second-fastest marathon in the UK. It’s also the second-largest marathon in the UK and eighth-largest in Europe.
On Sunday (Race Day), the Event Village was a hive of activity and celebration as runners reunited with friends and family and enjoyed live footage on big screens, the Charity Village, retail stands, food and bars, all of which created a brilliant atmosphere. And, with the chilly weather, plenty of runners and supporters flocked to the Crewroom stand to buy leggings, mid-layers and jackets – the North West Hoodie proving to be a favourite.
Next, we’re heading to the Virgin Money London Marathon Expo where you’ll find us on the Alton Sports stand from 24th – 27th April, showcasing our new crops, shorts and tees.
