We’ve just returned from Head of The Charles in Boston, and what an event it was. Not only is it the world’s largest three-day rowing competition with 11,000 competitors, but it also attracts 400,000 spectators! And, it was our opportunity to take innovative British design, stateside!
As proud suppliers of official merchandise for this event, we’ve carefully crafted a HOCR24 Collection which reflects our passion for the sport, our considered approach to product design and our attention to the finer details.

For example, the fabric in our rowing suit is derived from discarded plastic bottles that often end up in our waterways. By relaunching plastic waste, we’ve created a soft touch performance fabric that’s opaque with four-way stretch, specifically designed for the rowing motion. Thoughtful details include flatlock seams and no-rub hems for extra comfort, an internal gusset to keep your garment fresher for longer and a side pocket for rigger jiggers or energy gels.
We may wax lyrical about the pride we take in making our products, but we know the proof is in the pudding so, after arriving in Boston, we were lucky enough to go behind the scenes with Riverside Boat Club at their evening training session. Check out our video which shows them putting our HORCR24 Rowing Suit through its paces...
The next day was race day and, as the event unfolded, we cheered on from the banks as crews took to the water in a bid to make history. It was fantastic to see the likes of Vesta RC and so many crews from back home travel from the River Thames to make their mark on the Charles River!

With our trade tent up and running we were able to meet customers from around the globe and introduce them to the full HOCR24 Collection, including our cosy Quarter Zip Sweatshirt and beautifully light and airy Carbonised Bamboo Top, both made with recycled fabrics and sustainability in mind…
Being at Head Of The Charles was a fantastic experience for so many reasons. To see months of hard training, dedication and teamwork come together in the thrill of competition reminds us that rowing is at the heart of everything we do, it’s what drives us forward – like every great athlete – to work hard and to be the best at what we do.
Boston, thank you for having us!
