At Crewroom we love the festive season and all the edible treats that come with it. So this year we’ve decided to get active so that we can enjoy a few mince pies and glasses of eggnog and still get off the sofa. Teaming up with our lovely friends and Crewroom ambassadors we’ve compiled 24 exercises to keep you fit and healthy with everything from handstand press-ups to bear crawls and mountain climbers. In November our mobile pop-up store proved to be a huge hit at City of Oxford RC and Henley RC so this month we’re out on the road again bringing a bag full of festive goodies to a town near you. Saturday December 12th: British Rowing Indoor Rowing Champs, Lee Valley Velo Park Sunday December 13th : Molesey Boat Club, 10am-4pm Saturday December 19th: Walton Rowing Club, 10am to 4pm And if we don’t get to see you this side of Christmas we hope to see you in the New Year when our mobile pop-up will be heading north – watch this space!

At Crewroom we’re pleased as Christmas punch to have been chosen as runner-up in the MAPIC Awards ‘Best Pop-up’ category where Crewroom was competing with a number of established high street brands. Created in 1996, the MAPIC Awards is an international competition that rewards excellence, innovation and creativity in the retail real estate industry and, on November 19th, Crewroom was announced ‘Runner-Up’ coming close second to a well-known international ice cream brand and their Magnum Pleasure Store in Covent Garden. Crewroom founder Kate Giles said: ‘We are absolutely chuffed to bits. We’d like to thank Anne Partridge and her team at the Putney Exchange Shopping Centre for nominating us. We truly didn’t expect to do so well as we knew we were up against the big guys, so this really is a massive honour.’

Last month we mentioned some great classes in and around London which will get you out in the elements and your endorphins up and running. Since then our Putney Store Manager, Emily Carpenter, and Northcote Store Manager, Tiina Mielon, have been testing out a range of classes and each month Emily will be bringing you her feedback and top tips... Project Awesome with Anna and Danny The most awesomely fun workout in London by a long way! Anna and Danny run a workout every Wednesday at The Scoop, London Bridge, which is completely free. Every time I leave their class I feel incredible and ready for the day ahead. With a secret location every Monday and the classic "Scoop and Loop" on Wednesdays, Project Awesome is a great full body workout. All classes start at 6.30am but it’s well worth it for the sunrises and how great you feel for the rest of the day. With all fitness levels welcome, and the chance to exercise before work, this is one you won’t want to miss! Here at Crewroom we’d like to say massive congratulations to friend and Ambassador, Anna McNuff, who’s just been nominated as a ‘Make Your World Bigger Champion’ by the Discovery Channel. Anna, who’ll be appearing on days 5, 11, 17 and 23 in our Active Advent Calendar, has duly been recognised for her amazing adventures including cycling (unassisted) through every state in the USA and running solo 2,000 miles along New Zealand's Te Araroa trail. We’ve always been huge fans of Anna, now we love her just a little bit more – well done Miss McNuff!

We’re chuffed to announce that Crewroom has been shortlisted for a prestigious international MAPIC award in the ‘Best Pop-up’ category. In October 2014 we opened our pop-up store within the Putney Exchange Shopping Centre – our first experience of retailing on the high street and an opportunity to explore how the Crewroom brand would be received by the consumer. Twelve months on we’ve opened two permanent shops so the experiment worked! MAPIC are so impressed with our retail journey from experimental pop-up to permanent high street stores that they’ve shortlisted us in a competition which sees some impressive high street brands vying for the top prize.
